The feature address at the symposium in connection with the second gathering of Indigenous Peoples of the Caribbean (August 29 – September 5, 1993) was given by Joseph Palacio, Resident Tutor, U.W.I. and at the held at the invitation of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago to commemorate the United Nations declared Year of the World’s Indigenous Peoples in 1993.
